The Tree

My wife and I travel a certain road about twice a month to visit some friends. We are always fascinated by this tree. Can you imagine it's 1970 and this is the cover of a rock album? I love this pic.

1970's- Post Eight

Yep, back in the 70's I was a dj for
several years. I worked full time and part time. As far as enjoying it I have to admit it was a blast, but it didn't pay enough to live on.

It was a small town morning to night country station and I worked all shifts at one time or another. I also wrote copy ( commercials) , and even wrote out the logs when the secretary was on vacation.

I visited there recently and of course now everything is computerized which just takes all the fun out of the job.

The pic shows a dj friend of mine who worked there for a short time. I'm the one on top of the piano and I really did dress that way. Youth..........

Random Thoughts *Post Seven

William Shakespeare may have been a great writer, but Mark Twain was better.

I love A & W diet cream soda.

99% of the classic rock and roll artists could never had passed the audition on American Idol.

I am a drug addict.

Every person should watch the movie A TALE OF TWO SISTERS.

People who can make me laugh aloud: Laurel and Hardy, W.C.Fields, Jack Benny, Benny Hill, Rowan Atkison, Lum and Abner, Jerome Howard, Victor Borge, Don Knotts

I miss cowboy movies.

It's sad to see the great actors looking old now.

God had a great day when he made dogs.

I don't understand people who don't listen to music every single day.

I would make John Adams look like a liberal.

Facebook is better than Myspace, but that's not saying much.

I refuse to Twitter.

I am sick of rain and tornadoes.

All Americans should read the 5000 YEAR LEAP.

Being nice is fun...being sillly is more fun.

I am hooked on the Sookie Stackhouse books.

I want a really expensive fountain pen.

It's a long way to the top of you want to rock and roll--AC/DC

My favorite singer is STILL Michelle Shocked. See top right pic.

Music.......Post Six

Have received an email from my all time fav singer...Michelle Shocked. Was just thinking about how much fun it would be to travel the globe doing what you really love to do. I know there are hardships with it also, but you are doing something that is just so much fun.

I taught school for 28 years and probably enjoyed one year out of that time. I think I was a good teacher, but to me it was just a job and not something I was crazy about doing.

I am trying now to learn how to play the 'slap' bass. It's a technique that really sounds good, but can also get really complicated to play. I am just in the starting stages...so not much slapping yet.

Going To Birthday Party

Short one. Going to my niece's first birthday party. Women sit around and go "how cute"...and men sit around and wait to eat hamburgers and hotdogs and then wonder when we can go home.

About Facebook Post Four

Ok..there is this thing called Facebook. It's now supposed to be the most used social network in the world. I figured it must be a pretty fancy place. I joined.
So far this is what I have found: You get a lot of add requests from people who want you to be their 'friend', and then you never hear from then again.

It's pretty much like Myspace without all the glittery crap that the women cover their pages in making it harder for your computer to load . It also doesn't seem to have quite as many pictures of grandbabies and how they are all loved.

So now I have a lot of friends that never say hi to me. I feel blessed.

KITTENS AND SNAKES OH MY! POST THREE

Well, whilst mowing the lawn I saw the little green snake trying to get out of my way. So I got off the mower and picked him up and took up to another location and released him. The kitty is now sixteen days old and has four brothers/sisters. Mom is doing well, thank you.

THINKING ABOUT MUSIC..POST TWO

Thinking about what artists I will always buy cds from.
Short list.
MICHELLE SHOCKED
LAURA LOVE
MARCIA BALL
PAUL McCARTNEY
SHELBY LYNNE

Interesting that four out of the five are women. NO rock groups. There are very few rock groups anymore that I listen to. Rock groups died with STEPPENWOLF, CCR, BEATLES, STONES, DOORS, FRANK ZAPPA AND THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION. And yes even the MONKEES.

My car tag says F ZAPPA. The other day I had a guy ask me what that meant. sigh
